Summertime greetings to the community of the Dreamwood Neighborhood.
Settlement Agreement.pdf; No Exhibit A.pdfSettlement Agreement; No Exhibit A.pdf What is the Dreamwood Lakeshore Association and why does it exist? This is our neighborhood in Mound, Minnesota that has evolved and modernized a unique lakeshore sharing program, in union with the Mound City Dock Program for the benefit of all residents in this designated neighborhood. Essentially spanning the region along Three Points Blvd to Lake Minnetonka from Avocet to Gull Lane, this has been a dedicated Commons area. Originally provided to all residents in this area, the intention of Commons lakeshore was to provide equal access to the beauty and possibilities of Lakeshore access to all that resided here since 1906. As times and usage of the lake evolved, the original system found crowded shorelines as docks and boats grew larger, and residents and lake enthusiasts competed for more access and lakeside opportunities.
The challenges to find an equitable program that meets the needs of all who live in this area with respect to docks, boating and access to the lake was worked out after several years of study by three distinct groups. In the end, abutting lakeshore residents, inland residents and the City of Mound formalized an agreement in accordance with state and county courts to insure an ongoing and secure agreement for all parties involved in these groups. The Dreamwood Lakeshore Association is an outcome of this agreement that is designed to communicate the updated program rules of the lake access agreement and bring the entire region together as a cohesive and unified neighborhood serving as a platform to share and communicate input on our cherished lakeshore area.
The purpose of this association is to provide a common forum for contact, information and neighborly exchange of ideas. This is served by a website and email data base to clarify the usage and shared benefits of this lakeshore zone. The association can work within itself to insure that all residents are aware of the rules and benefits that this area and may provide suggestions and input with the Mound Dock Program. Representatives of this group are selected from votes by the two groups- Inland and Abutting landowners, to provide representation of the respective groups. As a neighborhood association, they serve as conduits of information and may interact with the Mound Dock program and residents to minimize any negative issues that can develop among any disparate group of people. The goal is to insure that there is a harmonious and informed population in this neighborhood. Unity and equal benefits for all residents of Dreamwood Easement Area are the essential goals of the Dreamwood Neighborhood Association.
Since the program is now established and regulated by the Agreement that is public information on the Neighborhood website and part of the Mound Dock Program, the majority of questions arising can be best addressed by referring to this document.
Please enjoy and respect this shoreline and its benefits we encourage all residents to share the beauty and sanctuary that Lake Minnetonka and Dreamwood Shoreline offer.
Going forward, it is important for any resident in this neighborhood to provide us with current email addresses and names to insure a reliable contact/communication data base. Please respond to this website and alert your neighbors to do the same.
